The rule begins with the source mapping
The catalog uses an explicit mapping file that connects a source category ID to one primary category and, when supported, one secondary category. Titles are not scanned for convenient keywords to force extra classifications. This gives editors a rule they can inspect and correct while protecting the product's permanent URL.
Counts decide index eligibility
Fifty secondary routes currently have at least twenty published products. One populated route has seventeen and remains useful as a filter but does not enter the subcategory sitemap. Empty categories also remain out of the index. This threshold prevents thin pages without deleting taxonomy that may become useful after future verified imports.
Category copy stays cautious
A shoes page can suggest confirming size, colorway, sole and pair details; it cannot state that every item has a particular material or box. A bags page can suggest asking about dimensions, strap, hardware and compartments without claiming those facts are already known. The content helps users ask better questions while keeping product attributes evidence-based.
Useful notes
- Treat filters and landing pages as different states.
- Keep rules reviewable.
- Recount after substantive imports.
